1. Why desulfurization for paste?
There are at least four disadvantages if there are no desulfurization for paste
1)PbSO4 need 1400 0C temperature for lead reduction, need more energy. PbCO3
will become PbO at 3500C.Pb can be deducted from PbO at 8000C.
2) Lead(Pb) will lost through gas due to 1400 0C temperature. The boiling point of lead
is 15250C
3) More SO2 will be released to air
4) Need more additive for lead reduction so melting capacity of furnace is lower
2. Description of working Process for paste Desulfurization system
Desulfurization:
The lead powder PbO+PbSO4 from paste fall in down deposit pool passing through vibrating
screen.
During this step, the following reactions take place:
(1) H2SO4+2NaOH → Na2SO4+2H2O
(2) PbSO4+2NaOH → Na2SO4+PbO+H2O
Filer press:
The lead oxide ( PbO) is in suspension status after desulfurization and pass filer press. The filter
Cake is made by filer press.
Effluent treatment: The effluent after desulfurization will be treated properly with right
PH through fabric membrane before discharge or pump into recycle water tank.
