Lead Acid Battery Recycling: Safe and Profitable

A complete lead acid battery recycling plant must handle breaking and separation, lead paste recovery, desulfurization, smelting, and refining — all while controlling acid runoff and airborne emissions.

The integrated process separates batteries into four products: lead grid, lead paste, PVC/PP plastic, and hard rubber. Downstream equipment includes rotary furnaces for paste reduction with higher recovery rates than traditional blast furnaces, lead refinery kettles producing 99.999% pure lead, de-sulfurization units to reduce emissions and energy consumption, and complete air pollution control and water treatment systems to meet strict environmental standards.

Circuit Board Recycling: Unlocking Precious Metals

Printed circuit boards (PCBs) contain some of the highest concentrations of valuable metals in the e-waste stream. Recovering copper powder and precious metals from PCBs requires specialized circuit board recycling equipment capable of handling complex, multi-layer boards with electronic components still attached.

Dry separation systems with air separators and electrostatic separators achieve copper powder purity of 96–98% with recovery rates up to 95%. Wet separation plants can process PCBs with components still attached, making them ideal for mixed e-waste streams. Capacities range from 300 kg/hour to 2,000 kg/hour, with custom designs available up to 5,000 kg/hour.

Expanding Into Lithium Battery and Ore Processing

As the electric vehicle and energy storage markets expand, lithium battery recycling is becoming increasingly critical. San Lan's lithium battery recycling plants break and separate waste Li-ion batteries to recover black mass (containing nickel, cobalt, and graphite), plastic, copper, and aluminum at capacities of 500–2,500 kg/hour. Complete air pollution control systems ensure safe handling of potentially harmful gases.

Beyond recycling, San Lan also supplies lithium ore extraction plants with capacities from 500 to 5,000 MT/day, converting crude ore to lithium concentrate with grades of 4–5%. Tailing ore extraction plants further recover lithium from waste tailings, achieving total recovery rates of 75% compared to the industry average of 65%.
