Why lead acid battery breaking and separating plant?
The battery breaking and separating plant is key step at whole lead acid battery recycling plant. After battery bronken and separated, there are four output (Grid, paste lead, PVC/PP, ebonite). Smelting and refinery technologies are mature technologies.
1) Paste and GRID will be processed by different way. After separating process, the lead paste is taken out by filter press. Lead paste is consisting of 5% Pb, 15% PbO, 65% PbSO4 . Reduction operation is required to make metallurgical lead from lead oxide and sulphate lead.
2)Save energy . After separating, the GRID ( Lead-antimony alloy) can go to lead refinery kettle directly avoiding melting with past at blast furnace or reverberatory furnace/rotary furnace for lead reduction operation. The working temperature of lead refinery kettle is less than 500oC,so energy can be saved
3) Less pollution.The plastics and ebonite are separated, so no pollution to atmosphere. And the plastics and ebonite can be sold to market.
4)After separating system, the sulfuric acid attached at components of lead battery are cleanly washed, so SO2 emission is reduced. ● 5) Safe and health to workers.

Description of working Process for lead battery breaking and separating plant
Steps of spent Lead acid battery breaking and separating plant :
Step1 : Use hydraulic lead acid Battery cutter to cut the lead battery into four parts. After cutting, the acid
will be empty and flow into one acid-collection tank.
Step 2: Use 4-shaft-shredder IC-1100 to shred the lead battery into 4-6cm size .
Step 3: Shredded batteries go to vibrating screen with 1mm mesh aperture installed under
the 4 –shaft- shredder IC-1100.
Step 4: The lead powder from paste fall in down and go to deposit pool through vibrating screen.
Step 5: The Pb-Sb, ebonite, PP go to Granulator through 1# Screw conveyor.
Step 6: Granulator with 12 mm screen crushes battery into less than 12 mm granule. Crushed
battery are mixed with water becoming slurry.
Step 7: Slurry goes to water float separator.
Step 8: The light material, such as PP, plastics mainly from separator of battery and case will
float at the surface of water and go to plastic collection bag via spillway chute with screen
the heavy material, like Pb-Sb, ebonite, will sink at the bottom of the tank and then go to water
shaking table through 2# spiral screw conveyor.
Step 9: The Pb-Sb(Lead-antimony) from grid and plastics from plastics case will be separated via
water shaking table. The Lead alloy will be taken out by 3# 4# screw conveyor
Step 10: The water will be circulated and reused after ETP.
Step 11: The paste will be separated by filter press from acid water.
